1st Build During the summer with fuge and baffles.
Works well but decided to do away with the baffles, because the over under technique created some bubbles as it pours over in the 2nd and last chambers. This design really didn't leave room for a large in sump protein skimmer. Had to use an external Berlin XL rated 250 - 400 Gal PS
Improved Sump.... what I did here was made the 1st Chamber 11" Long and split it in 2(one for over flow inlet and other for live rock and cheato) and drilled holes in the plexi so when the water level rises and covers the holes there will be no bubbles what so ever and water will flow threw to the next chamber that holds the PS. The last chamber I raised the baffle 1" from the bottom to let water flow under also minimizing bubbles.
Then I built the 40 Breeder ^with the same concept .....
Tested the 40 Breeder and worked excellent... no bubbles !!
