aquarium surface skimmer

should i buy it to put on atach to my fluval 304 that im using for a fish only saltwater tank. im confused i dont know what to do. should i sell my fluval and get a wet dry filter with a protein skimmer or just add a protein skimmer to my se up. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE I JUST STARTED A SALTWATERTANK NO FISH YET IM USING THE 304 with a power head 70 and thats it. IM GOING TO PUT LIVE ROCK SOON BUT NO CORAL. WHATS THE BEST THING TO DO.

the fluval will become a nitrate factory eventually. but if you use it to circulate the water and clean it once a week and add a good skimmer you will be on the road to success.

fluvals r fine for FOWLR, not reefs

But they do require maintance (cleaning) as Tony said.

I use the same round surface skimmer for my tank, its a ugly solution, but it works!
