I wouldn't say that. I'm a big DIY guy, I tell people all the time that contact me 'Try it yourself if you can " I think you did a great job, The only thing that made me a little un-easy { from what i can see in the pictures } is the way the canopy is sitting on the tank. I would have some kind of outside or inside catch piece so if someone bumped into it or something it canopy won't fall off the rim completely. Also, Get 3/4 in screws for the hinges and you won't see them inside.

At least for another 3 years..LOL Well, I got the first coat of poly on the canopy...:shhh: I'm suppose to be working on the nursery this morning...anyway here's a few photo's and off to the nursery I go...

Thanks. I actually have a lip on the back of the tank, but when those pictures were taken it wasn't installed. It's pretty secure right now. In the future I might add some pieces of acrylic along the inside walls to further protect the wood and to help with that above concern.

Well, the snow is kicking my butt, getting out to the garage to work today is a bust...I did finish up the canopy for the 40 gal breeder set up. here' a pic:
