Well here is the 1st pics of a production model of a DIY LED fixture made by Shawn from MR.
72 Cree LEDS 3.3V with 40 Degree Optics Total.
36 White 36 Blue
13 700MA Dimmable Drivers.
Test Run 8 hours on with absolutely no heat. Heatsink is cool to the touch.
Weight 15LBS mostly due to the heatsink itself.
Anyone with a PAR Meter that can help please hit me up. Looking to take actual reading to post dispersion of light at diff levels in water.
Total cost to make 1st model. $1,300.00
Will eventually make a Touch Screen Version.
Questions or comments are appreciated.

What are you using to control the dimming, i see you have a project box with manual controls? are you going to integrate it with a controller?

BTW i have an Apogee meter but i am in Brooklyn

Good job! I like how you have friends over for the grand showing! :)

The fixture looks like it's placed high, so you can get a lot of coverage, however, you will lose par.

Have you thought about splitting the heatsink in 2?

Looks like buckpucks. I didn't want to go that route because of so many pucks.
Btw, how are you mounting those optics to the LEDs? I'm not sure what type of adhesive would work best for those...

It was in two piece but i have a 92 corner so i machined it to ome piece so it easier to hang, it's not over the tank as yet pics are of test run i;ll probably hang it 8" off the water depending on the par.

Which drivers are you using again....? I know u mentioned it on your thread that u made them. Where did you get the parts?

I got parts from digikey and mouser. They are the 2 best places to buy electronic parts. Im using the national semiconductor LM3404 IC. Let me know what current you want and what power supply you are using and I can tell you what parts to buy.
