no it wont warp when its is painted and treated.i also added alot of center bracing for support.all wood no matter what can warp in the right conditions.plus its an open top so little condensation will build up.i had an old canopy on my 50 that was made of pine and never warped.thanks charlie i love carpentry

if i were to have used oak or even poplar it would have doubled the price probably and he wouldnt have wanted it.as long as there is good support and a good treatment and its not soakling in the water.it will be fine for years to come.plus i could only imagine the weight of this monster if it was a hard wood.probably close to 100 lbs.

haha..the only practice pieces i use is for the crown molding.i always cut 4 6in pieces, nail them on the measure the distance.so much easier then just measuring the object your making it for..so far in hours it was 4 hours on friday.4 1/2 hours yesterday and 5 to 6 hours today but thaty was because i forgot to purchase the wood for the doors and had to run and get them.then i bought the wrong hinges they were in the wrong drawer.
