Tank building

I have a question for those who can build tanks out of glass. i have access to 1/2" tempered glass that i can get cheap, the glass is beveled on the ends so i do not know if that makes a difference.

can you use glass that was made for high-rise apartments for tank building?

Isn't that stuff tinted for uv protection? The best aquarium glass is as clear as you can get. The opposite.

you are probably right but i would just buy a separate sheet of glass for the top or even possibly an open top

That would work, but you'll need a clear piece on the front as well if it's not tinted

But then you can't drill the tank and have to use external HOB overflow box
