Hi MRers,

I just bought a Nano Wave 9 from a user here, but the moonlight LEDs were busted. With nothing to lose, and only a very minimal knowledge of wiring, I got a very cheap ($2) flexible 12V LED strip off ebay and tried to bypass the existing setup and simply hook up the strip instead.

I've seen all the LEDs light up when I rake the leads against each other briefly, so I know that they are functional, but keeping the leads together causes only two of the LEDs to light up. For those that have a little more experience with these things, will soldering resolve that, or do I need a better strip / more power / something else?

The strip, connected:

The original setup, with the leads disconnected:

If there was a beginner DIY forum, I'd post there...

Thanks to anyone who can help!
