how do you position the float switch in the reservoir? If its full wouldn't the pump not turn on? and when the reservoir is empty wouldn't the pump turn on?

Why is the float switch located in the display tank?
The water level should not change there.
Is there also a need for it to be in the reservoir tank?

Shouldn't it just be installed in the sump instead?

Mount the float upside down, it either toggles on or off.

Sorry thats how I have mine setup, it's sumpless. You can have it mounted in your sump or anywhere where the water level changes. I just did a installation for a friend with a sump, works like a charm.

The float in the reserve is to stop the pump from running dry.

didn't even know u can mount them upside down, learn soemthing everyday
