I would say that would be sweet for biocube. I was planning on making a led light for smaller tank if somene would be interested, like 8g and I think 8 leds would be sufficient for that. 14 leds in 14g biocube is plenty IMO.

The CREE's are 3 watts (I think?), 3*14= 42 watts and the cube comes with 54 watts STOCK, I'm not sure if its safer to go with 20 of em ?

You can't compare PC lighting to LEDs, no way. I have 24 leds above my solana and I have it dimmed cause at full power it's just too much light. My suggestion is no more than 14 leds under 14g biocube. I would do 5 blue, 5 white and maybe 1-2 red leds for nightime viewing.
