Hi guys,

Planning and acquisition continues around here, have a 34G Solana and stand + light on order from saltwatercritters and as I have decided to add a refugium to the 2nd chamber, I was wondering if I could get some input regarding dimensions and any other advice from owners.

Plan is do something similar to the iTank stacked chambers with cheato at the bottom and a couple of slots above for filter material above that will be easy to pull out and clean. I can either go with egg crate or we have a bunch of extra new plexiglass test tube holders at work that I can convert once I have a better feel for the dimensions.

So would anyone mind sharing design tips, photos and/or dimensions?

Much appreciated,

JT

Ah, cool guys, I knew that I had seen some pics somewhere. Actually Brendan, your beautiful tank helped with the decision to go with the Solana in the first place.

The refugium looks straightforward.

Instead of working I just went through your thread, Marcin -- really helpful. I share your interest in the caps and zoas. Also enjoyed your photography, I had wanted an RO/DI for my darkroom for awhile, so the new reef build is a nice incentive.

I think my setup will be very similar, we bought an MP10 and just decided to get the RKL.

Would love to see an updated FTS!

I really appreciated your intro, this nascent tank of ours was *originally* going to be a cichlid tank for me, but I brought my teenage son with me to an LFS to look at livestock with me and that was the end of the game -- he's an avid scuba diver (rescue diver cert and all) and he is usually not too impressed with most things -- but the reef tanks really got him going. He actually knows far more than I do about the corals, he spends part of his summers diving and learning about reefs.

Husband is back at home installing the RO/DI -- so things are moving forward!
