AAAHHHH, more LED help please!!

My ultimate goal is to light my tank, 84x30x30, with LEDS. I am planning to make 2' strips using 3w leds. I do not know what kind of coverage these will do so I may end up with 3, 4, or 5 strips to cover each section of the tank, the left, center, and right side. I just lost a 400w MH ballast on the left side, so here we go.

I have done alot of reading and I thought I had it, but I'm totally confused now!!!

This is the power supply I have





I mounted and wired 13 3w leds to a 2' aluminum C channel, connected them to one set of wires on the power supply, plugged it in and they lit nice and bright.....then they started to go out. 2 hung in there but barley even visible. Can I make this power supply work, or how do I do what I want to do? In lay terms please!!! Thanks!!

i dont know if you are aware of it but these things put alot of heat which needs to be disperced or ledd will dim and cupoot

My guess would be you put the postive to the negative and vice versa might have blown a couple I did the same thing to one. Check your wiring also you should get a heatsink for them.
