that's exactly what I do.

Really...? Interesting...
What you gonna use to exchange heat in sump? I was looking at titanium coils but for that price you can run your 250w heater for few years... Plastic/Teflon can work but has to be huuuuuuge to do good job.

That's by far the coolest DIY I've ever seen. Great job!

I have a couple questions though, how much did it all cost you to make that fixture and what size tank is that on? Also, what is that controller that you have in the front of it?

Well I didn't count exactly how much I spend to build this setup but I think over $1000...
My tank is marineland dd 93 gal cube 30"x30"x24"
You are asking about the controller installed in the light fixture? If so this is programable low voltage fan controller, you can use regular or water resist temp probe and hook up max 4 fans or 3 fans and water pump i don't remember the name but if you like I can check all info for you.
It wasn't expensive under $40 shipped.

mark

Here is short list what I got to build this setup:

LEDs parts

Aluminum engle $40
Aluminum heat exchange $200
8 meanwell drivers $250
96 Luxein LEDs $385
Radiator $50
Pump $50
Temp control $40
Hardware (hose barbs, blue hose, screws, wires, etc...) I'm sure over $100 but let say $100

Total without any labor +/- = $1.115.-

If I'll get back $800 I gonna be happy.

what a setup, nice work there. liquid cooling must make a difference on the heat dissipation over the use of fans.

Thank you! :)
Yes only one low rpm fan is enough so far to keep setup under 100 degree but if I'll run all LEDs at 100% I don't know what temp gonna show up on LCD ;) didn't try yet...
