Coralife 220 Recirc Mod

I have a Coralife SS 220 skimmer and as most people know it's practically useless. Luckily I only paid $50 for it. I've read that performace can be improved by adding a gate value to more precisely adjust the flow and by adding a recirc to it. Has anyone done a recirc mod on their Coralife. If yes, can you provide details like powerhead/pump used, brand/type of needle wheel, configuration/size of plumbing, pictures, etc.

an easy and cheap mod for this skimmer is to take a wooden air stone connected to a air pump drill a 1/4" hole dead center in the top and drop the stone down to the bottom of the bubble chamber.

it has to be a wood air stone though or the bubbles will be to big.

also make sure the pump is no more then 4" below the water surface 3" is better.

thanks for the air stone idea, but i really wanna try the recirc. i've already got the pump just below the water line.

Throw a mesh mod on it. Easier than a recirc. Bubbles will look like milk!
