Well got tired of my tank having an ugly aluminum piece on it so decided to retro fit my red sea maxs origional hood to fit a 20in x4in heatsink.

Been playing around with the color choices for a while so I went with strictly 24 royal blue cree leds. Yes I know that might sound stupid only moon lights. Any way my growth with them before was really well for zoas about 1-2 babies per week.

Anyway mounted two ballasts inside the hood where the hold one used to be and ran all the wiring around the screw holes.

I plan on adding a buck puck with 6 white leds if I ever decide to try other types of corals.
Anyway finally finished it tonight will get some pics up later for now here are the old pics.

Nice Job,Been looking to remove the hood too but it keeps me from doing Top offs often. Those stock T5's lose Par too quickly.Like every 4-5 Months I have to replace them.I added a Panorama LED module myself to had more blue.
