Any one ever build there own tank???

Thank you... I'll look into the seahorses... Now I just have to work on getting my tank built. I'm working on it this sat... I'll post up some pics of the actual progress.

Okay, so today I desided to make the tank 12"x12"x19"tall... Would 1/4" thick be good?? Anyone know??

Thanks... I will water test it monday after I get home from work... And yes I ended up with 1/4" glass... Let's hope it will hold water....

I got the glass at a shop in Greenbrook, NJ... All the glass came to $36...

Real nice! I had a 55g that was too tall for my stand, i took it apart cut the glass and resealed it and its holding up real well. You have to make sure u really push the silicone into the grooves. GOOD LUCK!

Ok, so water test:

No leaks so far, and it's holding together quite fine.

Tipped it over to spill out some water. Held fine. Left water in it and moved it, still holding strong...

So far so good! Just remember, with rimless tanks like that, you will want a foam underneath and make sure the tank is level.

Just a quick update...

I don't like the look of the tank so, I'm thinking of making a stand for it... Nothing to big, just like 8".. All wood with the back opened so I can hid stuff in case I need to... Never built a stand... Anyone ever build one? That can help give me an idea of how the stand should be???
