AquaC Ev 400 skimmer

Hey everyone I have a 120 and I'm using the aqua c ev 400. I think it's a good skimmer and it can create a bunch of gunk, but at times it just doesn't get the foam up to the cup. I don't understand it will work for months and then just take a break or something. Im thinking of getting the reef octopus xs 200. What do u guys think? Idk what to do. Please all advice is appreciated. Thanks

I have the aquac ev 180 and every couple of months i clean out the spray ingector because at times it can get clogged which could lead to the problem your havin....

The EV 400 is rated for a 150 - 400gal. It could be overkill for a 120 not enough bio load to remove. I have a EV-180 on a 90 and it never takes a break for long periods of time only for 10-30 min during feeding but then continues. I am happy with the Aqua C. I adjusted it and never had to touch it again. R u using the right pump?

Is there some where else I'm suppose to post this on the forum? Anyone have any thoughts on the reef octopus skimmers? Need advice.

I also think the inconsistency in the skimate is because there's not enough bioload. The 400 is a beast for a 120g tank.
Can't go wrong with the octopus either tho'.
