I am trying to automate my tank as much as possible. I don't have any controllers yet. Right now I am interested in an ATO system. Can you guys list your make and model, and how you go about using it, meaning, do you use kalk in the ro/di water, do you have it connected to a controller, any special tricks that you came up with.
Thank you.

I just order the Tunze ATO system nothing special just hooking it up to a 13g container with RO/DI water it was pricey but will give for peace of mind.

Just looking at this device, a bit pricey, but how does it work, once the sensors detect that the water level is low, do they turn on a pump? Do you plug in the pump in the ato unit, or does it have to work with a controller?

Hey savage sorry to ask this, but since you have the tunze, can you compare the ato that daaznmofo suggested?

http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/reef-fanatic-level-controller-auto-top-off.html

from looking at the specs, are they comparable? Tunze is a great brand, so obviously got the German engineering which makes a potential choice.
Thanks again.

Will I order my yesterday so i sure get it on Friday I went and check web site and reviews and all I see was all but goodthing Tunze unit as far as reef-fanatic goes you sure ask daaznmofo on that one..

I've had my Tunze Osmolator 3155 for about a month now. I love it it works awesome.

One thing to know is the electric eye has a film that will make it think the level is low and will cause it overfill until the secondary float switch shuts it down and the alarm sounds.

Before you install it if you get it just wash the eye with warm soapy water and rinse it well and that won't happen.

Since I did that it's worked perfectly and comes with everything you need including 2 magnetic lounts.

I also have the tunze, its more money but i liked the eye instead of a float. Only have for 3-4 months so far so good, and i also use kalc in the top off it has made keeping the levels much easier but i still have to dose just much less and less fluctuation.

Got mine from auto top off.I believe hes a fellow reefer.mine has two float switches the second is used for the back up in case the first fails.i also ordered the snail guard and the low voltage transformer.I use it with an aqualifter and works great.Inexpensive and gets the job done.He also has some other options as well.Worth taking a look at.
