new to the hobby and want to know how good is the hydor controller before i buy it.

Its the most simple wave control out. Which is not to say that its not good. Im picking one up soon. It has 2 plugs but with a splitter/multi outlet you can put many more on it! I love the flow on the koralias! For the money its the best

Thanks for the information but i also want to know if you can run any circulation pump with it.

Make sure you use the Evolutions Koralia pumps. The old Koralia pumps make funny noises when they switch on. They startle the fish. Otherwise they do a good job. You can dial the amount of time you stay on each pump.
