im getting a 150 gallon fish only tank and i need a help picking a protein skimmer. i read online that on a fish only tank protein skimmer is not a requairment but for the sake of less water changes ill get one. i like qulity equipment so i was looking at the vertex omega 150, my question is, is that enough? debating between the vertex omega 150, reef octopus prime 200, eshopps cone 200 and aquamexx cones Co-2.

i really need help picking one. thank you

honestly you don't need one but all of us start fish only and slowly start adding corals. I like the reef octopus and eshopps makes a quality product too

then I would not waste the money. Fish are not really bothered by nitrates like corals are if you keep up with water changes every once in a while you'll be fine

i would advise the skimmer weather you do coral or not, i have the vertex omega 150 and its a beast, well worth the money better than any other skimmer ive owned

Skimmer helps clean the water too. Basically it produces tiny bubbles that particles stick to and get collected in the cup. Smaller bubbles, bubble density and an efficient collection design is what to look for.

It depends on price range, space where it will be placed (if sump). Once you nail down price range and dimensionrestrictions it be easier to suggest one.
Side note reef Octo has quality skimmers at good price point
I'm using a seaside aquatic on a 150 and have no complaints. I think model is es7 something like that
