SMTP with Cablevision

Can anyone with an Apex out there please tell me what you used to get you email alerts to work with cablvision. My guess is my smtp won't let me out. These are my cirrent settings with the bottom 3 filled out also.

Email enable Enabled Disabled
SMTP Server mail.gmx.com
SMTP port (Default 25)
From: address lr%$^@gmx.com
To: address lr %^&@gmx.com
Alt To: address 631%^&*&^%@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Re-email delay (minutes) 60
Email authentication Enabled Disabled
User name
User password
Email test

Why not just set it up through Apex Fusion?

because my sortware version isnt high enough to use fusion and I cant run updates through wiresless.

If you're an optimum customer set the smtp server to mail.optonline.net, Cablevision by default blocks port 25 for residential customers.

Will that require me to use a optimum email address?
