air bubbles everywhere

Looked at your plumbing and just noticed how far of drop and straight the drain is. This is one of the reasons why I like to use a pool hose for the drain.

Looks to me like bad adjustment on Protein Skimmer, return pump can NOT produce foam or very fine bubbles. You may use a paint strainer ( 1 Gal.) hold by rubber band around pipe (or cut the pipe and add one coupling to remove the bag all the time) stay longer then Berlin Socks, easy to clean , prevent the big detritus to clog the Proterin Skimmer (pump).

It's the drain from the tank into the sump making all the bubbles in having a problem with, not the skimmer
