HELP ASAP with powerheads

I have a 55 gallon mixed reef tank. I read that with Sps you should have at least 5000 gph flow. I bought 2 of the Koralia 3200s and the smart wave controller. They are like airplane propellers and make my tank into a hurricane! I'm returning them but I am sooooooooo unsure of what GPH I would need. I want two units to eliminate dead spots so what is the proper GPH and koralia unit for a 55 gallon? Please help!!!

It depends A lot on how your rock work is set up, not on the gph of the power head. Why did you feel the flow you had was too much?

It was so strong it was blowing the saND all over and my LPS and softies were getting pounder and shaking all over. No matter where I aimed it the same thing was happening

Get the jabeo waves maker power head u can adjust the flows. And it also has the wave motion. Best bang for your bucks.

I was looking at the Koralia Evolution too.

If you go with the Jebao, I would go with the rw 8, had them on a 75 and they were more than strong enough.

they recommend to turn over tank volume 10-20 times per hour, so about 500-1000gph.
closer to 20 for sps. but as mentioned above rock work has alot to do with it if its obstructing the flow.
