Micro Bubble Problem

I have a 120G with sump Located in Basement, as long as i run Filter sock i have no micro bubbles in display tank...BUT every now and again my returns will start blowing micro bubbles and i cant figure out where they are coming from.. and to stop micro bubbles i turn pumps down for about 1 min and turn back on and there gone?????????????

How often do the micro bubbles appear?

If you look in your sump with a flashlight you might be able to see at what point they appear in there..after the 1st chamber, the 2nd...it may help you identify the source.

If using a filter sock is helping, why not keep it on the tank 24/7? Can the water be emptying into the sump too quickly?

Do you have a pic of the sump?

I run sock 24/7 but there is still a period that they will appear, but soon as i shut pump down for 1 min they are gone

Maybe once a day, i will try to get a pic, i am thinking about adding another tank next to sump just for water volume, then have pump pull from there

i had the same problem and it turned out to be my water line was not high enough in my sump, also try puting live rock in sump to help reduce bubbels
