I have a 57 gallon deep blue edge series tank with center overflow.
Its cycling water.
My problem is I can't get the water level less than 4" of the top.
Its runing super quiet and nice but the more water I put in it levels off at 4" and the water winds up in my sump.I'm it bit puzzled by this Because I can't think of a solution.
Its a mag 9 return pump.water flowing into overflow chamber nicely not gushing in.

Not sure if I understand problem...water should not rise higher that the overflow? If its going over the overflow...it's as high as it should be! Is the overflow adjustable? You should not need a ball valve to adjust the water FROM tank to sump !

Yes, I'm having trouble following too. Overflows are built at the height the water level will be. It will never be any higher than that or your tank would be filling faster than it's draining and it would spill out of the top then.

those tanks have an adjustable piece in the overflow to make the water level higher in the tank move it up alittle which will hold back some more water making the level higher in the tank it's on the front piece on the overflow box its a screw lossen it and move the piece of plastic up alittle youll see how that front piece moves up or down it sounds like its all the way down

Thanks to all who replied.I'm having the problem that the water level in the tank is about 4 inches from the top so you see the water line.I don't have a ball valve on it.
The only thing I could think is to increase the return pump so that the water level rises faster than it is going through to the overflow area.

Reefers paradise I see that the silicon thing would work because it would obstruct the flow of water into the overflow area but I just thought that since this set-up looks so well thought out it should function without having to modify the product too much.

Thank goodness. And don't install one either!

Good grief man! Make sure to buy a wet/dry vac as well! ;)

Post a pic of your tank and overflow, and maybe we can figure something out.
