Ok here is my story I have a etss sump buddy 40 with a 9.5 mag pump running it, most people have said its the greatest skimmer they have used but I am just feed up with it cause when I change my filter pads and clean the skimmer cup every week the darn thing over flows (and every second week when I do water changes too) I have to gate it down on the pump side and open it up all the way.. WHY??? It takes about 2 days for me to get it to run full open on the valve with out over filling then it takes about another 3 days to get it to the right spot to make the foam I want. I know when you fee it will go down but thats not what Im concerned about cause it comes back in an hour or so. But after 5 days of trying to work it out I have 2 days of not messing with it and then back again all over it starts. I also dont like that it goes up and down with my water level but the section that it in in my sump is always 8.5 of water that never lowers so why does it go up and down???
So this brings me to the swc 160 cone skimmer that I am hearing so many good things about, pump draws less works great and fits in my sump. So do I change or do I stick with what I have and just keep playing with it for 5 days a week? While I have the same problems with the swc cone? Please let me know what you think and if you have the swc 160 cone skimmer...
