goby eating small pistol shrimp
have a 75 gallon deep blue rimless. currently have a yashia haze goby and decided to add a pretty small pistol shrimp paired with a orange spotted diamond goby. After acclimation and added to the tank, my Yashia goby decided to pounce on my pistol shrimp then commence to tear it apart and eat it. i asked another FS that i frequent and he told me that that was a possibility because it wasn't paired with that pistol shrimp and also because the yashia goby was larger that the orange diamond and the pistol shrimp. I told the sales person at the store about my life stock prior to the purchase so i called the LS where i purchased it from and they said the never heard such a thing before. Has anyone had any similar situation or heard of this?
I really want a pistol shrimp in order to form that symbiotic relationship. I now will have to fork out more money and try to find a larger pistol shrimp and try to pair them.

Don't know if this will help you but I've had great success with this. When ever I introduce a new fish or invert (after acclamation) I put them in a net drop it to the bottom of the tank and let them come out of it when there ready. I don't think that was your problem but I read it in a book figured I would share.
