I didn't realize that he killed the fire shrimp, I thought the shrimp might have gotten caught in a pump, but when I introduced the cleaner shrimp, I noticed that the wrasse was chasing it. but then it stopped. The following morning the cleaner shrimp was split in two. i did noticed that the shrimps had just molted though, which is the same thing that happened to the fire shrimp. So maybe because they are vulnerable at that time, the wrasse took advantage of that.

I think if you add the mystery after adding the shrimp they will leave them alone, but shrimp added after the wrasse are in trouble.

+1 sorry to hear - mine has a cleaner & fire as tank mates, too. it was too busy eating ALL my flat & bristle worms over the course of one week. literally the fattest fish i had. it has since settled for mysis & pellets & flakes. :thrash:

Very common newb mistake mixing fish which aren't compatible with shrimp. Shrimp are the invert most likely to get eaten by a fish.

you have to look at it like this... Your locked in a room for a really long time(years) with a cow. Every day you get a hamburger, one day there's no hamburger, 2 days no hamburger, the third day no hamburger!!! All the sudden that really nice cow that you thought was your homie starts to look real tasty. Then an idea strikes your mind. TODAY I HAVE STEAK!!!!!
