Hello fellow reefers so here is my dilemma short and sweet i picked up four lyre tail anthias about 1 1/2 weeks ago at first couldn't get them out then they started to come out but now i only see two ones died and the other is MIA I'm assuming he has also died but i believe they died of starvation as now the two that are swimming about are in need of food but they won't eat so my question is has anyone else had this problem with this type of anthias and also what else should i try to feed them i thought they were supposed to be social fish but they hide more than anything and are very skiddish and are not eating and i fear they two will die any help please i like these fish don't wanna loose them

Look like Dispar Anthias..... Being in the main tank will take them a little longer to settle in but try a mix of live and frozen brine to get them to start eating, offer them small samples 3 or 4 times a day until they are eating.

i agree they do look like dispars I'm trying to feed like that but don't wanna overload my tank as my protein skimmer broke on me so I'm using my back up which only handles 160gal and my tank is 220gal i just hope they start eating before they die off already lost one for sure and the other is still MIA

a good sign that they are out...larger ones such as yours may take alittle longer to get to start eating than smaller ones, but some good advice on starting with smaller food items like Nuta Mar( if you can find it) cyclopeeze or Rods fish eggs ...I currrently have a group of five with one dominant male and for me they tend to do better in a larger groups not just a pair or threes like many other Anthias...

i want to get more but I'm affraid maybe after these start to eat more i will get more in the hopes that they will coax the newer ones to eat
