I have a quick question for multiple angel owners- I have a Koran that is nearly complete in his adult color morphing, and I have an oppertunity to get a juvie Passer, who, has a mild bacterial infection that I have experience with(hes otherwise fat and eating well), and have great results in curing(hence the REAL cheap price) he would be in Quantine for the duration of his illness of course.

How well do you think these two angels would co-habitate? The tank is large enough to handle them, only other inhabitants are a 6 inch Porcupine Puffer and 3 Pygmy Moray eels(Gold margin, Yellow Head, and a White Eye)

I have been told Passers can be nasty, but my Koran is almost full Adult, and the Passer has just begun to morph(colors are just starting to turn bland) and my Koran holds his own in that he'll actually steal food out of the mouths of the eels and the puffer.
The Passer is about 4 inches and my Koran is a bit over 6 inches I think.

:) BUDABOY,
I HAD PURCHASED A BI-COLOR,CORAL BEAUTY, AND A MIDNIGHT. I PUT THEM ALL IN TOGETHER, THE MIDNIGHT DID'NT MAKE IT.I DONT THINK IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM BECAUSE THE KORAN HAS BEEN THERE THE LONGEST. HE HAS ALREADY ESTABLISHED HIS HOME.THE PASSER WILL HAVE TO GET BY THIS, AND ESTABLISH HIS OWN CORNER.IF THE KORAN IS LARGER THAN THE PASSER, HE WILL HOLD HIS OWN. MY BI-COLOR IS A SLIGHT BIGGER THAN THE CORAL BEAUTY AND DOSE THE PUSHING AROUND.PEOPLE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND! SO, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! 8)

Bugaboy,

I would think twice about adding a passer with your koran. Passers are very aggressive. They will kill just for the fun of it. If your koran is an aggressive fish you probibly will get a way with it.

Good luck,
Kevin

Some says it can't be mix together but some says it can. But according to my experience, it depends on your luck, i've keep 3 adult angel each of them around 5 inch, they are Asfur, Emperor, and Majestic plus 1 juv 2,5 inch black velvet and small bicolor dwarf angel. The Emperor and Maejstic are almost 3 years old tnk fish the Asfur are around 6 months, the black velvet and bicolor around 1 month old, they don't kill each other but the Asfur don't like the Emperor and Majestic. But one thing for sure may be if you keep only 1 angel it will live for many many years, the time that you can't afford with some angel in one aquarium. 8)

If you started them out together as small juv's and they were raised around other angels then you would probably be okay. This situation sounds a bit borderline. You can try but keep a very close eye out for trouble and have another tank ready to evacuate one of them to if things go sour.

Hope this helps,

You say the tank is big enough, what size is the tank? How long did it take the angel to morph into it's adult colouration?

I currently have a 180 gallon FOWLR. I put an adult Blue Face Angel (6") in the tank 6 weeks ago. Two weeks ago I put in, together, an Emperor Angel (6 1/2") and a Majestic Angel (5").

The Majestic and the Emperor are buddies, the Blue Face is a bit of a pain but not really vicious, more like a "get outta my face" attitude than outright aggression. I also have a coral beauty, he totally ignores the large angels, and they ignore him.

25 years ago I had a 140 gallon tank. I had about 6 or 7 large angels in that tank with no problem. I might have put them in accidently in the right order, but nevertheless, no one ever fought with each other.

So it can be done.

My parents have just introduced a 3" majestic angel into their marine tank which houses a 4" emperor (which has been in there for roughly 6 months) this has chased the majestic angel for a almost a day until it hid behind a rock and stopped feeding, we have now taken the emperor out and grounded him in the quarantine tank for a week and we are going to re-arrange the tank before he is placed in a plastic bag and aclimatised (so they can see each other) we also have a regal tang, clown and mandarin in this tank had no problems with the majestic angel (who has now come out and is eating like a horse) however the regal tang and emperor did kick off slighly when the emperor was introduced. I just wanted to know if this should solve the problem of the harassing or if it will just carry on. :?
