Boston Reefers Society is excited to announce our first organized auction!
WHERE: American Legion, 81 Liberty Street, Quincy MA 01581 617-690-6096
WHEN : Nov 24, 2002
TIME : 10am-11:30 viewing, Auction starts promptly at 12:00
Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to bid on some great stuff and help out the BRS at the same time. All funds raised from the auction will go towards paying for the speakers' symposium we are working on for the first quarter of 2003.
We have some great donated items from many vendors and local area sponsors such as: Coral Reef Aquarium, ESV, Hello Lights, Kent Marine, Lovely Pets, The Reefkeeper, and more items will be added and information shared with everyone via our website and RC forum.
We also need donations from YOU for the auction!! If you have anything you would like to donate, we'll take it! Frags, fish, or dry goods. Please e-mail Jim Nguyen, our Treasurer, at [email protected]. For frags, please provide a description, size, quantity (if you have more than one frag), current tank size and lights it is being kept under and any other pertinent information (feeding, water movement, placement, etc). For equipment, please provide a description including age and condition. Feel free to include a picture of the donated item (one item per picture .. do not send us a picture of your tank!). You MUST pre-register your donations. To maintain our sanity, we WILL NOT accept any un-registered items on the day of the auction. Also, if you donate frags, please be ready to stay until the end of the auction if you want to take back any unsold frags. If you can't stay, the BRS will hold them for you until you can pick them up, but we cannot guarantee their survival.
You may drop off your frags at Lovely Pets in Quincy any time between now and two days before the auction for public viewing. Lovely Pets will open their store at 10am on the morning of the auction for viewing of all specimens. The store is less than a mile from the auction hall and there is tons of free parking at both locations.
And as if frags and dry goods weren't enough to lure you to the auction, there will be food and a cash bar! So please RSVP at http://www.bostonreefers.org so we can get an accurate headcount for seating and food.
The auction is open to everyone (members and friends).
Please Volunteer: If you want to volunteer your time at the auction, please send an e-mail to Jim Nguyen at [email protected] .
See you all there!
