As you may have seen or heard already, the Raleigh Aquarium Society is having it's 23rd Annual Aquarium Workshop on the weekend of February 16th-18th.

Friday night's topics are focused solely on marine aquaria. Rgistration is at 6:30 and the first program is at 7:30. Speakers include Chad Brant and Mark Denaro.

I would like to encourage everyone to come and bring frags to trade. Also, if you are just starting out your tank, you may be able to get some good deals. If you have frags that you need to get rid of, please come out and help these folks out who are just getting going. I personally plan to bring lots of frags of both soft corals and SPS.

I'd also like to encourage those people that have more rare specimens that they don't frag often to bring some stuff that we don't see at every frag swap. Not to discourage our faithful Xenia cultivators, but if we want to preserve the more prized varieties, we need to ensure that others have colonies in case our own colonies happen to die for whatever reason. I will also be bringing a few frags from colonies that I have never fragged before in hopes of getting others inspired to do the same.

Please feel free to post what you have to trade or what you are looking for, but don't think that just because you don't pre-arrange a trade, you shouldn't bring extra frags. Every frag swap I have ever been to I have left with something nice that I did not plan to trade for ahead of time.

Feel Free to visit the Raleigh Aquarium Society Yahoo Group and post your frag list in the Marine Livestock Folder of the files section. For more informaton on the workshop, go to www.raleighaquariumsociety.org
