Well, is fresh water and FRESH WATER same with reef tanks, you can build some tank for $1000 or even less put one anemone and tomato clown or you can spend $10000 and up for high end sps system...
I'm Tanganyikan Cichlids lover and trust me nice setup for that fish can cost money... Some of them are also delicate like Xenotilapias etc. chiller is big plus, apex controller is only controller no matter for fresh or salt water
Background for my last setup was worth more money than 500 lbs of live rock (from other member at $3/lb)
I have no room for fresh water now but in the future ill definitely install one.

Whoa nice fish! Not too many hiding places huh! Id like a tank like that with more swimming area but always worry they'll be stressed eithout all the structure for territory
