Hi,

Ok so this aquarium business is getting to me, I've become addicted to looking for stuff to do with aquariums.

I found a shop the other day sells aquatic frogs,
do you need a place for the frogs to come out of the water?
and are they dangerous to fish? ie will they eat smaller fish such as neons?
would tiger barbs or my shark attck them?

so many question so little time.

Thanks

It really depends on the kind of frog. I used to keep and African Clawed frog, had him for at least 2 years until one night he decided to go exploring. 8O

African Claweds dont need a place to come out, however alot of other frogs do. I believe The Africans will take down small fish when they get to a large size, however I don't know about other frogs.

I doubt the fish would harass the frog, although I am not incredibly aquatic-frog-experienced. :)

I used to keep the African clawed frogs also. They can and will definately eat ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING that will fit in their mouth... They are awesome pets but you have to keep the water about 1/2 way down in the tank or cover the tank or both b/c they will jump out and "go exploring" (like mentioned before). They dont come out of the water onto land unless they escape.

my friend has had for a while in his 10 gallon these little african dwarf frogs. they're awesome, and dont seem to be aggressive at all. they are small and easy to feed. they dont need anywhere to climb out of the water. and if that information isnt correct, it still works, so...

yeah, I got two frogs, who are great in the tank, they get along well with the fish, and are fun to watch.

they are even eating the tropical flakes, and corydora pellets, which is good, but I do still suplement them with living blood worms, brine shrimp etc.

The tiger barbs may nip at it...Tiger barbs are aggressive and nippers..seeing how the frog (assuming African Clawed Frog) will come up for air from time to time, they (the barbs) may take the opportunity to nip at them..I doubt the redtail/rainbow/bala(not sure which one you have) will pay attention to the frog

yeah, I've got 4 african dwarf frogs, not african clawed frogs, and they are fine, my barbs don't fin nip, and are quite at home in the community, totally the opposite to what I've read about them.

the frogs are great, very cool little additions
