my euroreef skimmer is still making a lot of noise, and I am interested in seeing one in action to determine if that is just the way they sound, or if mine needs to be returned.

Anyboy currently running a Euroreef and wouldn't mind me coming by to take a look/listen? thanks.

noble, something must be wrong because that ER is pretty quiet. Have you opened the pump and checked needlewheel for clogs? Try cleaning the venturi hole on the sedrea pump....sometimes salt creep build up in there.

What exactly does the noise sound like and where is it coming from?

webfr, jackson,

thanks for the suggestions. I'm at my wits end with this one, and get stressed out every time I think of the skimmer. I have already been through all of the attempts at correcting the issue with euroreef. reversed the venturi, took apart the entire pump, assured a clear air intake.

I would really like to see one in person so I can tell what they should sound like.

Anybody have one running in their tank that I can check out?

I plan on going by yessongs (rob's) this weekend to check it out. Thanks to all for the continued support.

Tim, thanks for the offer. might take you up on the offer if I can find a ride.

wedfr, it sounds like a dishwasher gone awry. I have my 75 in the wall, with the 30G sump plumbed in the bathroom closet. I can hear it with the bathroom door closed when sitting on my couch.

It sounds to me like its not a needlewheel in there and its just a standard impeller. Thats what the standard pumps sounds like. If you can take a picture of the impeller and magnet assembly outside the pump and post it

THANKS ROB!!! (pleasure to meet you as well). awesome tank you have there.

I can now say that it is specifically my pump that is the problem.

wedfr- its not a needle wheel, which is probably the cause, i'm going to try to get the needle wheel and hopefully that will alleviate the problem.

Thanks to all whom provided insight/advice. I was going crazy over it.
