Ok, here's the good the bad the ugly.......with some reservation. I don't want to ruin the flick by giving away too much.
The 3D is awesome. You must watch it in 3D or you can't watch it at all because of the way it was filmed. Cutting edge 3D though.
It starts out great, through a nice reef. You'll find yourself naming everything to your partner......I was told, "ok, we know you know what that is, let us watch the movie" :fishhit:
The music is good. The narration is geared towards the non-reef movie goer. The size of the screen made it spectacular.
As the movie progressed, you realize that they aren't going to show nearly as much reef as we all hoped. They go a lot into symbiotic relationships. It was interesting and I did learn some things.
One of the best parts, IMO, was the Mantis Shrimp scene.
They did get a very little bit into the 'save the reefs' speech, which I was glad to see.
All in all I'd say it was a decent movie beause of the filming, the 3D and some things most of us don't get a chance to ever see.
Have fun, kick back, enjoy it for what it is and don't set your standards too high. They have to appeal to the everyday, I know nothing crowd too.
