I am ordering an RO/DI unit tomorrow. And I wanted to know pros and cons about both. I am getting the 5 stage 75 gpd unit. Which one is better? They both have great reviews and are both around the same price.

thanks

Air Water Ice specializes specifically in RO & RODI units and has a forum here & always donates to our swaps.
Bulk Reef Supply is a sponsor here.

Both are reputable companies :)

I just bought the air water & ice typhoon 5 stage 75gpd & got additional 10% off because I am a member on this forum..... If you go under the marketplace, then vendors and choose airwaterice you will see the coupon codes listed. Just call up and give them the codes for additional 10% off. They are located in FL so you will have it in about 2-3 days. The people there were super nice.

I just bought the air water ice typhoon am happy with it but It comes with a few things that u don't really need if ur using it strictly for rodi and not Ro for drinking etc the directions r also a little confusing but it gives me 0 tds and I'm happy with it if u order from them I'd place the order over phone so u can go over what u need

RODI units themselves are pretty much the same. It's all about the filters. I could make a RODI out of PVC in my basement that functions the same as all the companies mentioned, it just wont be pretty.

I personally have the 5 stage from http://thefilterguys.biz/ Jim is an awesome guy and replies to emails same day.

Just a note, if you get <40PSI you should pick up a booster pump. Anything under stands to turn your 75GPD system into a 40GPD or less system.

You can order any 4stage RO system then just add your DI to the end.

But like I said, all RODI units themselves are about the same. The filters are the only thing that make a difference. I would go with whatever has the best customer service and deals. I know Bulkreefsupply offers 15% off all filters in the future if you buy a RODI from them.

+1 Most units are the same, it doesn't really matter as long as you get all the stages you want. The cartridges themselves are the more important factor. it just comes down to who is going to give you the best price for what you need.

I have a decent R0/DI system from Water General (RD-102).

It has a sediment filter, two charcoal canisters, the RO membrane and 2 DI canisters. I guess that makes it a 5 stage system....?

Anyway, this year I bought an additional DI canister and added to the output of the last one, so now my water is probably super pure. PS, I have a HM Digital inline dual TDS meter and the output is always 0ppm for at least 10 months at which time I change stuff, but with the last added DI canister I'm sure the water is even better. My tap water is always between 46-60ppm. The last DI canister barely affected the output volume although I should mention that this system has a 80psi Fluxtec booster pump.
