i have used the mag float before but that scratched up my glass. now i use the nano mag which is better. but the nano mag is not good to clean algae near sand bed or top rim of tank. i have used credit cards but doesnt seem to work that great. what do you guys use?

Get the smaller mag float and then order from russ at saltwatercritters.com (since they are the only place really with them in stock) and get the easy blade attachment. It's a razor blade that attaches to mag floats. It's the best tool ive ever used. I use to have a bio cube and it even got the rounded front corners.

unless you get sand inbetween the magnet, mag floats do not scratch the glass. i have been using them for 10 years now and never scratched. although it does make a scratch sound when sand is between the magnets. make sure you are also getting the correct one for your tank. they make many sizes for gallons for a reason. if you buy the big one that is the size of yor palm, hoping it will cut back time cleaning and use it in a set up under 50 gallons, well thats your fault lol. its not made for glass or acrylic that thin. its made for thicker glass. they also make for glass or acrylic.

and windex works good, unless you have a real salt creep. if you just have simple water drops, windex works. but if you have actual salt creep and wipe it, it will smudge. i personally like the kent glass cleaner. im sure its the same as windex, but i love how there is never marks on the glass and will take off salt creep right away. sometimes even streak free windex leaves streaks...

White vinegar and water in a squirt bottle. I was once told never to use windex or any other ammonia based product on fish tank glass, due to the fact that glass is indeed porous, and the ammonia could seep thru the glass. I also like to use invisible glass by stoner.
