As the title says are, My question if you purchase a LED fixture that theres no way to dim the lights are there drivers or something that you can add to the led to make them dimmable? What brand names will be a good dimmable led controller too?

If the owners manual makes no mention of dimming capabilities I'm thinking you're SOL. That said, it depends on the power supply design in the fixture. If the manufacturer makes fixed and dimmable versions of the same fixture then you may be in luck if they use the same power supply design in both. it still requires that you figure out how to wire in a controller that works with their power supply design. hope that made sense. From what I have heard the fixture you have is made with a dimmable ballast. Not sure how you would test that out but according to someone I think knows his LEDs all you would need is a controller.

LEDs don't run off a ballast, that's only for fluorescents and MHs. LED are wired in series or parallel depending on the output voltage of the power supply.

My understanding it depends on which drivers your fixture uses. There are dimmable and nondimabblw drivers.

If it is a dimabble driver you'd need to install a potoimeter and adjust the voltage.

I think it may be possible to switch out the drivers or add the adjustment if it isn't already there. It'd be basically using the fixture and customizing it to do a DIY.

Myself I think I'm going to do the AI nano

So then how can i know if the lights i have can be dimmed or not? Can i try it on a controller to see if they dim?

On a controller I don't think they'd be able to dim in the sense you're thinking of just by plugging in the power cord.

My understand is the controllers use a special cable to the fixture to dim the drivers. (I may be wrong).

If you can find out which drivers your fixture uses then you can find out if the controller is compatible with them.
