I followed brs video of a diy fish tank screen.

Got the stuff from hd....it was a kit that had the net, spline, roller.

Issue is net is black in color but very small squares.
Squares ar e 1/16"...on each of the 4 sides of the square.

Is this too small.

That seems on the small size and you might have a small percentage of reduced lighting getting through to your tank.
You can always change it to a large sized netting ( I prefer the pond netting with the 1/4" 'holes') if you aren't happy with it.

Perhaps post a pic with a coin to put the size in perspective for us? :)

Ok I got bird net with seems like 1/2"squares.both hd and lowes didnt have any 1/4" ones.

Is 1/2"a side squares ok? I mean ever seen any fish or heard of fish jumping out of dt via 1/2" squares?
Has to go vertical like a great white in discovery lol.

If you say its risky, lmk where I can get 1/4".

My stocking can vary from fire fish, goby, mandarin, etc....

Thanks:)

1/4" will your best bet.

1/2" just won't cut it if you ask me, I have had firefish and a blue spot get through the 1/2"

1/2" is for larger fish (tangs/triggers/etc)

1/4" is the way to go for smaller fish (gobies/firefish/mandarins etc)
