from what i read i would go with someone else. save yourself the aggravation and go for another tank builder. what size where you looking for.

Yep, you order from them online or call and pickup in White Plains, NY when it's ready. Sometimes they come down to Long Island when there is a Reptile show. Usually sloppy silicone work. I ordered an 8" H frag tank from them and an acrylic tank from them both doing great. Some people have had bad experiences with the taller tanks with seams splitting open after the warranty expires. I believe it's 90 days.

From what I heard, if you want a standard size from glasscages, the tank's usually fine. Its when you start asking for custom sizes, there may be measurement errors. And their silicone isn't the neatest. Besides that, I don't really see people claiming the tank falling apart.

The closest custom manufacturer that I know of is Coast to Coast in Toms River NJ. I have never seen one of their tanks in person but the craftsmanship looks outstanding, and the they received rave reviews from those who ordered from them. I believe their pricing is at the upper end of the spectrum though.

You can also check out Reef Saavy in Florida, A.G.E. and Deep Sea Aquatics both in Texas I believe. Miracles in Canada also is a quality custom tank manufacturer.

I think you can get quotes from all manufacturers mentioned above except for AGE who requires your LFS to request the quote.

I've had one tank from GLASSCAGES. 3sided starfire 48 x 18 x 12. As noted with some problems. Wasn't all leveled but can't tell unless your up close. Silicone was sloppy but again clean it up and you can't tell unless your up close. Pick up at White Plains is not in any order and a lot of people will be on hand. Expect 2-3 hour wait.

Customer service calling in is a pain. The ladies answering the phones are mean. No customer service at all. Just ask for what you want or else they will give you attitude.

I like barebottom so it was annoying to see it eurobraced at the bottom.
I want an external overflow next time and I did not see that as an option.
Some people have had good experiences and some have had very bad experiences. When I was originally looking, there was no one that stated a leak. It was always noted that they were built like tanks but ugly silicone, not leveled and bad customer service.

I personally will be going with Jeff, CustomKing. It will be acrylic but he does awesome work and want some features implemented that he's done on previous tanks!

Opinions and products change do they not, someone who purchased a tank from builder A loved it but 2 weeks later that builder lost his top guy and builds went to _____. 'Bob's Glass Tanks Inc.' may decide to build acrylic tanks now.

Not every question has a static answer, if it did this wouldn't be a discussion board.

Look at the thread from two weeks ago, it is up-to-date and should satisfy your need for fresh threads incase Carlos, the head tank builder, quit recently.

^^Stores change owners and policies. New jobs = new person on the phone lines and customer service goes from bad to ok or even good. Just like aquatraders odyssea lights. It was horrible with people complaining about fires to a lot of people buying some of the MH fixtures and saying great budget fixture!

Sh*t changes and in this hobby. OFTEN!

Sometimes you can get new info that someone didnt post earlier. If everyone did as u said than who would need a forum? Just post about 100 articles and wham, all forums are dead.

And yea i thought glass cages would learn their ways but i saw a tank recently that was messed up. Contact Miracles.

This might not be everybody's case but just the legal fees alone would cover the costs of a premium tank for me. I have 3 floors of court happy aholes below me. Not to mention the livestock I'd lose in a tank failure. Plus the cleanup time. The extra money is worth the peace of mind.
