4 of the same type is ok... i see them together in stores all the time, mostly in pairs. I would not recommend putting different species together. I tried putting them together when i first started out and it worked for a while but eventually my percula killed the sebae.... they got along for a year but one day I came home and the sebae was in the perculas mouth. Good luck!
I have 2 diff sets I have a set of Picasso and a set of perculas.. That are fine with each other.. @ first they would fight about 1 week..after that week they are fine.
add whatever you want and see how they act, its your tank, do it how you want it, i have 2 midnights and a black and white oscellaris and there doing fine together in my 43 gal cube.
Most often it will not be successful once they pass the juvenile stage. You will most likely end up with 2 dead clowns once they mature, and there will be no notice when they kill the others off
What you see in store tanks are juveniles, not long term pairs of fish. They sell them...a poor indicator of success.
yonker i believe it a hit or miss i had few different pairs clowns in my old 65g with few anenome i think it how u aquascape and what u have in the tank a few anenome def helps
i put a black misbar clownfish with my tru percula with out knowing i thought my misbar would go out loosing but it was the other way around my lil guy is ruling my tru percula even thou hes the lil guy in the tank lol
The only cases of long term success I've seen with multiple pairs of clowns or family groups of the same species (e.g., 3-4 of the same species, and only with less aggressive species) have been in 180-500 gal tanks. However, even in large tanks I've seen failure too. As above, if it were me I'd stick with just a single pair in a tank of this size as more than that is unlikely to work long term.
