Hi all, I'm installing a 5 stage 75G RO/DI unit today. I have a 75G FOWLR.

Just wondering, how do most people warm their RO water up for doing water changes? I assume RO/DI unit taps into cold water pipe, so water will be on the cooler side. I could see making a few buckets worth and letting get to room temp, but I would think that's still too much of a difference (room temp ~70 degrees, tank temp at 77 degrees) that might shock the fish.
thx

Here's what I do, I make up my saltwater in my buckets than I fill my tub half way with hot water and let the buckets sit in there while I siphon the old water out of my tank usually about 15 min. By the time I'm done my buckets are about 80 degrees

Your water changes should not be done fresh out of the RO/tap. When you add the salt, put a heater and powerhead. This should sit for some time (hours to days) to fully mix and oxygenate, etc.

If you make large volumes of saltwater, you can turn off the heater once the salt is mixed and then only heat up the volume that you are changing in a separate container

Soo many ways to get that water to room temp , heater being the easiest way , however don't even think about using warm water through your rodi cause it will juice your membranes quickly so take your time and try some of the recommended methods I'm sure one will work for ya
