I have a 220 oceanic FOWLR, and just put on a 1/4 hp Arctic chiller - it seems fine. However, since adding the chiller I notice that the tank heats up even faster than before - probably due to the heat from the Mag 18 that circulates the chiller. Nevertheless, the tank stays between 77 and 79 degrees despite the sump being filled with heat-producing pumps (skimmer, phosphate reactor, return, etc.)

As for company I'd say Trade Wind. They're expensive but they drop ship to your door. They're very well built using same company's compressor and condensor equipment that the deli case companies use. It's not fancy looking but comes with a Ranco controller as well which you can put wherever you want(comes with a 5ft. or so cord).Mine is all ready to go. I put unions and ball valves with hose barbs. I'll be putting it in service this week sometime to replace my JBJ Arctica. Russ(masterswimmer) now deals with them after ordering mine. He liked the customer service so much he started carrying them on his site immediately after Since you're new and may not know his site it's- www.saltwatercritters.com. Here are pics of the internals:

i have had jbj, oceanic, current usa, and aqua logic. they all have some short comings. oceanic and aqua logic are more quiet. i think the aqua logic is a bit built better than the oceanic. the inline ones are better than the drop in's.....drop in creates cold spot in your sump.
hp depends on how many degrees you need to pull down. for a 220 gal.+ sump, i would go with a 1/3 hp.(a 1/2 if you plan to add volume like a frag tank, species tank, etc.), a separate controller like a ranco or use your controller...that's better than any built-in controller/thermostat and an eheim pump....more efficient than the mags and less heat.
i never own a trade wind but that's the one recommended by a buddy of mine who's a refrigeration guy and a reefer.
