I have started using a Seneye Aquarium Monitor/Light Meter. I am using the Seneye purely for the Light meter. With that said, I would like to know what PAR levels people have kept coral. This guide can be as general as LPS at xxx-xxx, or as specific as Original Mummy Eye Chalice at xx-xxx Par Level.
I would love for this guide to have specific well known coral names and pictures showing what colors happen at what par readings.
I would love to cover as many LPS, SPS, Softies etc in this guide.

Please post what Par levels you keep your corals at, or a general rule for you and your tank. Pictures to back it up would be great!!!

I hope this can help others as well.

This thread runs into 3 issues.

1. Not everyone has a par meter so its going to be hard to get a ton of info
2. Corals are affected not only by par but also wavelength, spectrum and lighting type. You would need to record all.
3. Tank nutrient/mineral parameters can also affect growth and color as well

So, at the same par someones coral can have a slightly different color hue/growth/happiness than the same coral in another persons tank under different lighting and different water params.

But you can say that at a certain par bracket corals will be generally happy of that species.

Its nice to have a par meter to test light intensity to check bulbs/LED's but know the limitations.
