I ran that same model on a 120g system and it was fine. I then added a frag tank of about 66g that brought the total volume to about 185g and the chiller didn't do so well even though they claim it has the BTU of most 1/3hp models. I ended up replacing it with a 1/3hp JBJ that did the job but the heat exhaust is counter productive within an enclosed room so I finally ended up with a portable room AC that is ducted out.
But otherwise you should definitely be looking at at least an 1/3hp chiller.

TradeWind

+1

Hands down the best on the market. Anything that looks like a sleek looking appliance and looks like it comes with "bells & whistles" is usually expensively priced, cheaply made equipment. The "Spartan" looking chillers always win on performance and reliability over sleek design * marketing tactics.

The components that make up a Tradewind are made for real world uses in keeping things at specific temperatures and not only for our hobby. They're responsible for keeping things at those specific temperatures on things that are far more exspensive than this hobby. Most other chillers, can't live up to those standards.

Aqua-Logic is a close 2nd place.

They're also here in the U.S. so if you need something, they're a phone call away from offering quick answers & solutions.

I've had PCI chillers also and they seem to turn on the moment they turn off even when you have more than enough flow to stop them from short cycling. IMO, they can be very inaccurate and end up costing more to opperate. Once I ran it off of a controller, it ran much better.
