Adding water volume will not really cause a spike or a cycle. If you are adding more water volume should not be an issue, unless you don't have enough filtration. But corals wont' have a huge bioload.

If you plan to fill with rock for just frags, that may be an issue. But if you are talking just a tank with JUST FRAGS on eggcrate, I think that you are fine to just add it.

IMO the more water the better (within reason) :) as long as you are not running that water with additional bioload.

That should not be a problem. Minimal additional bioload. No die-off from rock or sand. Your existing system should barely notice it. Just out of curiosity, what is the volume of your display, since I assume all the water is going to be in the same system?

Looking good, there should be no cycling issues adding a frag tank of that size onto your existing system.

If you happen to take pics as you go along, it might be something interesting to add to your tank thread or write up as a DIY thread :)

sure it will be sps and they are going to stay in there up to certen growth and then i will move them to my dt tank since water parameters are going to be same it should be easy to put them in dt tank . so no need to worrry about cycling issues .
