Introducing a rbta (xl) to tank. I understand they move but I want it to attach to something instead of floating aimlessly. Especially into my flow jets aka anemone killer :( it swallowed four in the past year. Help guys

Should grab is a little shakey.

Turn off the pumps as the one person said and give it a chance to attach. If you have sump leave your return on.

I recommend anyone who wants to add anemones avvoid using propeller pumps.

Nems that move around do and will if they are not happy with flow and or light conditions. If you use something to glue or force attachment, you run a good risk of killing it. If it decides to move, all you can really do is move any existing livestock out of its path. It will settle down where it wants to, not always where you want it to.

Place the anemone in the area that I desire , shut all powerheads off in that area untill u grabs hold. Most bubble tip anemones do not like that much flow, and will move if it is unhappy where is it .

Take a small piece of live rock and put it in the bucket you are acclaimating in. The Anemone usually will attach itself, then you have it attached to something when you put it in the tank.

The above can be a temporary fix. When I received the anemone from a friend as gift it was already attached to the rock it was on in his tank. The anemone stayed put where it was placed, but within a short period of time it started reproducing it self. That is when trouble began. I went as far as to re-scape leaving the center of the sand bed empty just to place the rock with the nems on it away from glass, corals, and rocks. One of the babies floated over to my rainbow wellsy, and murdered it.
All nems now resides in my 20 gallon where they can do no harm!

The anemone is a Rainbow Bubble Tip....
