When setting up are there any specific things on should put on specific plus?
Right now my light has an internal timer so i dont want to connect that because im not sure it will work right being turned on and off by the controller i would rather use its internal timer. I know i want to put heater on it when i upgrade and have a sump and skimmer hooked up i will add those and my lights for the 40B have their own outlets for 10k and actinic.

Oh wow thanks i will make sure i dont do that anymore. I may need some help down the road with using it with my phone and setting up everything connected to it but i think i have my heater connected and turning on at 77 and off at 78 should i turn my heater all the way up or leave it where it has always been set?

Yes, if for some reason you lose connection via wireless the incompletion of the upgrade can effect the unit.

I would turn your heater up a slight bit over the current setting. At this point you only want it to turn on and off. You do not want the internal thermometer to have any control. I woud not turn it up all the way just in case the Apex fails. But you should have it set so that the default is always OFF.

If you need to get it online lemme know. I will give you a hand.

Let me know how you like the JR man. I would love to have iPhone/iPad control over my tank but would rather be chased down by a pack of white sharks in the ocean than try to set up the wireless. :banghead:
