Longest you've gone without wc ....?

What's longest you've gone without doing wc? Mine is a 75 reef...have gone
5wks with no issues.I do dosing daily ca and alk and feedings.

I have a fuge with macro, dsb.I do auto topoff. I use reef crystals.
Oh I change gfo and carbon once a month.

what kind of corals do you keep? before SPS i would do 10% monthly change since going all sps i dont miss any 2 time per week changes. 5% on tues and 5% sat

90 Bow mix reef 6 months and counting no WC.

hm, 2 years. The school tank in NJ did not have a water change for two of the years I had it up. I only replaced evaporated water, which in a building that hot was about 10g a week or so. It started out as a fish and softie tank, then went to a fish only, then fish and softe again to a fish and macro tank.

It always did well with whatever it was stocked with.

Water changes that did occur only happened when someone added like two handfuls of cyclo flakes....

im about 8-9 months on my coral tank and like 2 on my fowlr tank so far so good lol

Seriously my corals are looking great. I have elegance , lps , sps, softies,Acan clam tang few others.

Used to wc once a month.wonder if its needed since I dose ca and alk daily.
Never measure mg. Fuge has dsb and macro grow fast.
Change gfo carbon once a month.
Gonna go for 2months between wc and see what happens.

If u go this route. Just keep in mind that there r other trace elements that u need to replenish that don't get used up as fast as Alk Cal and MG.

My fowlr is going 1.5 months without water change :X

I have 30 gallons mixing now.

i couldn't imagine a coral tank going more then 3 months without a WC and being successful or even close to looking pleasant. but hey thats just me. i do 10 gallons every week on my sps reef.

You can be very successful but you need to have the right setup. It's not for everyone.

Went 6 month in my fowlr. I don't even have a skimmer. Recently got some lps & softies now changing 10-15% every 2 weeks.

Once a month do 3 gallons but have gone as much as 3 months most.

But once a week checking calcium etc levels and adding as needed once a week.
