0% loss in Auburndale. Lights flickered a few times that scared the crap out of me. Will be prepared next year with dedicated generators. My 300 gallon tank would overflow all over my floor if the power went out even for a few minutes while I was sleeping.

Why would it overflow? if you have a sump not big enough to handle the drainage you should really correct that. that would scare the heck out of me

0% loss (very light bioload in a 30 gallon tank)
power out for 24 hrs with no back up
temp dropped to 59 degrees
I would stay even if it was a total loss because I just got back in after 4 years

0% loss, running everything on a generator. Lucky enough to find 3and gas stations lumped together. Gonna stay and do the upgrade once power is back and things are back to normal.

0% loss, Staying in

I lost power for about 36 hrs total, UPS ran like a champ. 850VA UPS, going to upgrade to a 1500VA UPS before the end of the month. The only thing I ran on the UPS was my return pump to keep water circulating. Everything else was not on a battery backup line. For heat I kept an eye on the tank and if it got too low I opened the door and let heat from the fireplace into the room to warm the whole room along with the tank. Wrapped it at night in a thick bath towel. All seemed to work nicely.

My tank is custom made and I think there are drainage holes drilled into the base of the overflow canister. So, pretty much, I think if the pump were to shut down, all 300 gallons will drain into the overflow. It is a scary thought. I have no idea why there are drainage holes drilled into the midpoint and the base of the overflow.

0% loss as far as I can tell. Lost power on Monday around 6pm and just came back on (thurs) around 7:30pm. I had a battery power airstone running the whole time, along with a marine battery tied to a power inverter for occasional circulation. Had to buy two batteries at $80 a peice ughhh but well worth it.
Fortunately I have a gas stove so I was able to keep temps above 70 degrees. If I wasn't off from work the whole week I think I would have lost a lot.

they make fittings you have to put that stops the water from draining back into the sump. You really need to install that with your type of plumbing

Sad to say I believe I lost it all. I haven't been in my apt. At rockaway beach since the day after and between finding a place to stay with. Wife, son and newborn I couldn't do much to save the tank. Hard to phathom but this might be the last sw tank I setup for a long time. Good news is family is safe And maybe After the smoke clears which looks to be a while in rockaway I will reconsider my position. I wish everyone the best.
